How It Began
A Traveller's Frustration That Became a Mission
It started with a backpack or rather, the frustration of not being able to find one.
Our founder had spent years travelling across challenging terrain - from the Himalayas to coastal trails in Europe and had grown deeply particular about gear. Not just "good" gear, but gear built with obsessive craftsmanship by brands that had spent decades perfecting their craft. Brands like Black Ember, KEEN, and Nortent, whose products were being celebrated by discerning outdoor communities worldwide.
But back in India? They were virtually invisible.
The Indian consumer was evolving rapidly - more well-travelled, more informed, more willing to invest in quality over quantity. Yet the marketplace wasn't keeping up. Authentic, globally acclaimed niche brands couldn't find their way in, and serious Indian consumers couldn't find them either.
"Why should Indian adventurers and design enthusiasts settle for less, when the world's best products exist? Someone had to bridge that gap. We decided it would be us."
Suro Superbrandz was founded in Bengaluru with a singular conviction: the Indian consumer is ready. Ready for Nortent's expedition-grade tents built in Norway. Ready for Black Ember's meticulously engineered urban carry. Ready for KEEN's purpose-built outdoor footwear. The only thing missing was someone to make the introduction.
That's precisely what we do.
